Conflict Management & Personal Safety
Conflict Management and Personal Safety is something that is relevant to everyone who comes into contact with strangers, be that through work or social encounters. SYSK Training courses have been developed to meet your needs and the needs of your organisation. Whatever area of work that you are in, for example, Retail, Engineering, Health & Social Care, Education or Security, or if you work outside normal office hours interacting with others, then there is an SYSK Training course to meet your needs.
SYSK Training courses are crammed with practical information, instruction and techniques to help you de-escalate, resolve or if necessary extract yourself from a conflict situation. For those of you that work in areas such as security where you are more likely to experience increased threat of harm, SYSK Training courses include additional risk assessment and planning models as well as defensive tactical responses and simple disengagement techniques if you need them.
Training delivery can be bespoke to your specific needs in terms of input and time available. SYSK know how hard it is to get people together for training and not everyone will require the same depth of knowledge and training and your needs and requirements can be discussed with you.
In addition you can now access an online conflict management & personal safety course. The course consists of a programme of modules designed to cover the requirements of effective conflict management & personal safety. You can work through the online course at your own pace and go back to revisit areas as often as you wish to.
The online course is supported by an added facility for each learner that provides permanent access to a summary of the key points of the course that can be accessed at any time and in any location from portable device such as a mobile phone.

Critical Incident and Risk Management
Making the right decisions at the right time based on the information available is crucial when dealing with a critical incident. It is imperative that decision makers are able to prioritise decisions and actions in what is often a fast moving, highly stressful and demanding environment. That is why a structured process for assessing risk and making decisions quickly and effectively is required. That process must allow for the recording of rational and justification for making decisions at any given time.
Policies, procedures and risk assessments must be in place, regularly reviewed and kept up to date to ensure that they remain relevant and effective. It is often the case that this doesn't happen and when the time comes that they are needed they are found to be not fit for purpose. SYSK provides training in decision making at fast moving critical incidents as well as training in pre-planning for events and potential problematic situations.
Safety and Security
Heading and managing the safety and security portfolio of an organisation is a huge responsibility and the safety of buildings, staff and visitors is a critical component to the success of any professional services function. As such, it is essential that effective policies, practices and procedures are in place to address security related issues and that staff responsible for the delivery of safety and security related functions are properly trained and equipped to deliver a safe, effective and efficient service. SYSK is ideally placed to review existing policies, practices and procedures and provide feedback on their suitability with recommendations for improvements or additional requirements to address gaps identified. If following such a review, additional work is required to update, amend or develop new policies, practices and procedures, SYSK is able to assist in that process. Every review, assessment and recommended course of action will be bespoke to the specific organisation's requirements and SYSK will work with that organisation to develop and implement any or all recommendations made.
Self-Defence
Maximising our personal safety requires more than having the ability to physically defend ourselves against an attacker. Many of the self-defence techniques that are taught require regular training to develop and use them effectively against an aggressor intent on physical assault. Most people do not have the time to attend self defence classes regularly enough to gain the confidence or skill level required to execute such techniques effectively.
That is why SYSK Training's self-defence course teaches simple, easy to remember techniques that don't require hours of regular training, techniques that you can remember and use in highly stressful situations. The course involves elements of the conflict management & personal safety course to help you to stay calm and respond quickly and effectively while experiencing fear and high levels of stress. The course also covers legislation relating to the use of force in order to help you understand what is considered to be reasonable force when responding to a physical attack. It is important that you understand what you can do and to what extent you can respond lawfully when attacked.
